As an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, I help my clients improve their symptoms and address the root causes of SIBO and other digestive issues through nutritional health coaching and approachable lifestyle shifts.
With supportive guidance and a clear understanding of how the body functions as a system, they can build a strong foundation of health and get back to doing more — and eating more — of what they truly love.
"My work as a nutrition coach began out of the need to support my own health. My journey started over two decades ago, when I first moved to Montana to pursue a lifestyle connected with the natural world. I joined the staff of the local Food Co-Op in Bozeman, where I was introduced to the influence of the food we eat on our overall wellbeing. I transformed from a vegetarian with an eating disorder to an omnivore with a healthier sense of self.
When I became a mother, my young son began having crippling stomach aches and diarrhea. I discovered the gluten and casein-free diet, and my son found immediate relief. After that, we began navigating the complexities of healthy eating with severe food restrictions — my son tested allergic and intolerant to nearly every food. Still, over time, with elimination diets and careful food reintroductions, we were able to heal his gut with the unexpected side effect of rapid, positive behavioral changes. This experience changed my life — seeing firsthand the power of the gut to control our overall health.
Years later, as my son thrived, my own health was headed downhill. I was suffering from seemingly random and unrelated symptoms — hair loss, constipation, uncomfortable bloating, extremely dry skin, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, and debilitating menstrual cramps. In addition, multiple concussions and brain trauma left longterm mental and physical impacts that were hard to overcome. I tried nearly every type of diet, routine change, and exercise to no avail. Finally, feeling at a dead end, I decided to test for SIBO. The results were positive for both methane and hydrogen. I began working with a naturopath on a multi-year healing process, discovering along the way that my gut was also host to parasites, an amoeba, and intestinal worms. I integrated nutrition, antimicrobial treatments, supplements, neural re-patterning, mindfulness, yoga, somatic experiencing, and other lifestyle shifts to alleviate my symptoms and heal my gut.
As I healed, I realized that I wanted to do everything in my power to help others who might be suffering the way I had. So I decided to devote my career to this path. With years of ongoing education and board certifications, I support my clients with science-backed expertise, shared in a safe and mindful environment. My functional nutrition and coaching training allows me to help people go beyond the symptoms, going deeper to uncover root causes. Ultimately, there is no single path towards healing — and I believe my clients are the experts on their own bodies. My role is to provide nonjudgemental guidance, ask the right questions, and offer caring, ongoing support as people discover what they need and regain agency over their health.
Today, I live an active and healthy lifestyle as an endurance athlete, mountain biking coach, yogi, and avid gardener, as well as mother and wife. The many layers of healing I've gone through give me a radical empathy for those struggling with SIBO and other health problems. I know what it's like to suffer for years, and I also know the importance of celebrating our wins. I work with clients of all ages and backgrounds to help them heal gut issues and enjoy a vibrant, thriving life."
